In 1989 the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, Scholarship and Education Committee established the Young Achiever Award. The competition was renamed the RAS Rural Achiever Award in 1991. Maintaining its original objective, the RAS Rural Achiever Award highlights the important contribution young people make to the Agricultural Industry, the Show movement and their local rural community.
The initiative proved to be extremely successful with outstanding “Rural Achievers” being selected each year to represent all aspects of NSW rural communities.
